Two men plead guilty in connection with shooting death

PIKE COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - Two men pleaded guilty in connection with the shooting death of a Pike County man.

According to court documents, Michael Brown pleaded guilty to murder while Anthony Browning pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of tampering with physical evidence.

The incident happened in Jan. 2025, when Kentucky State Police troopers responded to call about a shooting on Laurel Fork in the Steele community.

The two men, along with Michael Shortridge, were charged in connection with Christopher Lester’s death.

Brown and Browning had their sentencing date scheduled for April 23.

A pretrial conference is still on for Shortridge for April 1.
