“This announcement, the elected leadership in Neon, really hit it out of the park, they just took the ball... Took the bull by the horns,” said Pine Mountain Partnership Executive Director, Jeffery Justice.
Brenda Slone said she tried getting help through other agencies, even appealing denied applications. However, it wasn’t until she came in contact with someone from the Christian Appalachian Project.
"We’re already seeing appraisals starting to take place. So, we’re pretty excited, it’s a major step in the right direction,” said Knott County Judge Executive Jeff Dobson.
"An exciting time that we can say that we’re at least going to have those 14 new houses and that this project and these federal funds will be used to help that project," Jackson Mayor Laura Thomas said.
