Wildcats earn No. 2 seed in SEC tournament with 66-57 win over Florida

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WYMT) – No. 6 Kentucky (26-5, 15-3) picked up the No. 2 Seed in the SEC Tournament Saturday afternoon following the Wildcats 66-57 victory over the Florida Gators (17-14, 9-9).

Kentucky earns the No. 2 Seed after the No. 5 Tennessee Volunteers (27-4, 15-3) fell short to the Auburn Tigers (22-9, 11-7) 84-80.

The Wildcats had four guys finish in double scoring figured – Tyler Herro (16), PJ Washington (15), Ashton Hagans (14) and Keldon Johnson (14).

UK was without Grad-Transfer Senior Reid Travis once again. Travis suffered a sprained knee against Missouri on February 19. UK Basketball associate head coach Kenny Payne said Friday that Travis was listed as day-to-day.

If No. 10 LSU (25-5, 15-2) falls to Vanderbilt (9-21, 0-17) Saturday night, then the Wildcats will earn a share of its 49th SEC regular-season championship.

Kentucky will play in the SEC Tournament on Friday, March 15 at 7 p.m. ET on the SEC Network.
