HINDMAN, Ky. (WYMT) - After a close ball game for 26 minutes, No. 2 South Laurel used a 9-0 run in the fourth quarter to pull away from Shelby Valley, defeating the Lady Cats, 60-48. The win puts the Lady Cardinals back in the Mountain Classic championship game with a chance to win back-to-back titles.
Shelby Valley suffered their first loss on the year, but they get a chance at quick redemption. The Lady Cats take on No. 6 Clay County on Friday in the third place game at 5 p.m.
