UPIKE hangs tough, falls in second half to South Alabama; North Laurel grad Adam Sizemore scores first college points in Jaguars win

MOBILE, Ala. -- Chad Lott had 18 points to lead five South Alabama players in double figures as the Jaguars beat UPIKE 82-51 on Wednesday night.

The Bears hung tough with the Jaguars in the first half. They took a 14-13 lead on a Luke Layhew jumper midway through the first half.

Layhew had 16 points for the Bears. Morgan County's Jordan Perry added 11 points.

North Laurel grad Adam Sizemore saw his first action on Wednesday night. He had three points and two assists on the night.

Trhae Mitchell added 15 points and nine blocks for the Jaguars -- tying Frank Wilson (1994) and Kelly Blaine ('84) for the school record.

Josh Ajayi chipped in 13, and KK Curry and Andre Fox each had 10 for the Jaguars. Mitchell also had nine blocks for the Jaguars, while Ajayi posted 13 rebounds and three blocks.
