LEXINGTON, Ky. (WYMT) Kentucky freshman Tyler Herro will enter the NBA Draft, but he did leave the door open to return to Kentucky.
Herro averaged 14 points per game for Kentucky. He also became one of the best free throw (93 percent on the year) and three-point shooters in the country.
Herro made his announcement on social media Friday morning.
“As Coach Cal and the staff promised, it was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. This staff challenged me to be the best version of myself," Herro said. "After talking with my family, Coach Cal and the staff, I’ve decided to test the waters and see where I stand in the NBA Draft process."
Draft boards have Herro as a potential first-round pick. He plans to sign with an agent, but if he steps away from the agreement before May 29, he could return for his sophomore season.
