LEXINGTON, Ky. (WYMT) - Three games down, one game to go for the Southwestern Lady Warriors.
Southwestern defeated the Male Lady Bulldogs 52-42 Saturday night to advance to the Girls' Sweet 16 State Championship game.
The Lady Warriors led 24-18 at the half, but the third quarter belonged to Male as they doubled up on Southwestern, scoring 14 compared to the Lady Warriors' seven, giving Male a one-point lead going into the final frame.
But Southwestern held the Lady Bulldogs to just 10 points in the final quarter while scoring 21 of their own, securing their spot in the title game.
Kallie Sheron led the way for Southwestern, knocking down 16 points. Regi Cundiff tallied 11 points over her own.
The Lady Warriors improve to 27-5, they will take on Ryle (32-5) for the State Championship Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m.
