WHITESBURG, Ky. (WYMT) - The Letcher Central Cougars finished last year's campaign with a 7-21 overall record and went 3-10 in the 14th region.
Head Coach Winston Lee and his players see a difference in this year's team.
"It feels good to have certain people that you've been playing with for a while, we kind of know what each other is going to do. We have a feel for one another on the court.," said Trevor Hardin.
"We are trying to learn how to play more together and be more of a fast-paced offense and a really good defensive team this year," said Tyler Boggs.
"I think this team works a lot harder than the guys we had last year, we have a lot more depth this year on our roster, I'm looking forward to those guys stepping up and helping this team," said Caleb Stidham.
"We've just been working a lot harder this year than we did last year, just coming in and competing against each other more. Not like getting mad at each other and being head cases," said Gregory Kincer.
"I've seen such a progression in our guys. I really feel like, at least up to this point, I don't want to speak too early, but the process has really paid off. I think you are going to see a totally different team when the Cougars hit the floor this season," said Winston Lee, head coach for Letcher Central.
