Shelby Valley pulls away from Floyd Central, moves on to face South Laurel

After a tightly contested first half, Shelby Valley pulled away in the second half to defeat Floyd Central, 62-46. The Lady Cats were led by Alyssa Elswick with 25 points.

Elswick and Shelby Valley took over in the second half after heading into the locker room with a 30-29 lead. The Lady Cats outscored Floyd Central 32-17 in the second half.

Kennedy Harvel led the Lady Jags with 15 points, while Katie Jo Moore tallied 11 as well.

Shelby Valley will take on No. 1 seed and defending champion South Laurel on Thursday at 6:45 p.m. The Lady Jags of Floyd Central will also play Thursday in the consolation game at 5 p.m. against Pike Central.
