Perry Central's Sydni Eldridge signs with UPIKE Cheerleading
As the high school year winds down, signing season is in full effect as high school seniors make their final decisions.
Sydni Eldridge signed with UPIKE cheerleading Thursday.
The senior was a part of Perry Central's cheer team that won the small varsity division at the World School Cheerleading Championships this year.
Eldridge is excited to return to action after missing part of her senior year with an injury.
"It's really exciting and I'm just really thankful for this opportunity, and really nervous too but excited to get back at it," Eldridge said.
"We are so excited to see her healthy and ready to get back into a program who is going to pick up with that competing level that she missed out on right at the end of her senior year," added Perry Central
Cheerleading Co-Head Coach Kim Chaney.
Even though she missed part of the season this year, Eldridge will be missed dearly by her coaches and teammates.
"Sydni has been really - she's one of the best girls we've ever had to work with. She's dedicated. She gives her 100% every day. She's an excellent leader," her other head coach Kim Dixon said. "She's really patient with the new girls and always positive and encouraging, and we really really hate to lose her, but we know she's gonna do big things at Pikeville."
