No. 7 Tennessee gets revenge, No. 4 Kentucky falls in Knoxville, 71-52


KNOXVILLE, Tn. (WYMT) – No. 7 Tennessee (26-3,14-2) defeated No. 4 Kentucky (24-5, 13-3) down in Knoxville Saturday afternoon, 71-52.

Foul trouble early hurt the Wildcats in the first half, going into the locker-room Kentucky was down 37-24 at the halftime break.

Tennessee maintained the lead to cruise to the victory.

Jordan Bone and Grant Williams led the way for the Volunteers. Bone finished with 27 points, Williams had 24.

PJ Washington was the lone double-figure scorer for the Wildcats, he had 13.

Kentucky’s four-game win streak comes to an end. UK falls to 8-4 all-time against the Volunteers when ranked fourth in the nation.

The Wildcats fall behind Tennessee and LSU by one game in the race for the top spot in the SEC.

Kentucky now goes on the road next Tuesday night to take on Ole Miss. UK leads the series with the Rebels, 106-13. Ole Miss hasn’t won a game against Kentucky since February 1, 2011. The game tips off at 9 p.m. on ESPN.
