The Eagles hope to turn things around from one year ago after finishing the 2018 season 3-8 overall.
But this season, the Eagles will have some new faces on its roster.
In the off-season, Morehead State added 25 freshmen for its upcoming 2019 season. In addition to the freshmen newcomers, there are nine transfers planning to join the 2019 roster, giving the Eagles 34 new players.
Of the 34 additions, there are 20 offensive players, 11 defensive players, and three kickers.
On the offensive side, the Eagles inked players at wide receiver, tight end, slot receiver, offensive line, quarterback and running back.
On the defensive side, positions added are on the defensive line and at linebacker, cornerback, and safety.
Even with so many new faces, Morehead State football head coach Rob Tenyer isn't concerned.
"When you look at our blueprint, that is pretty common," Tenyer said Tuesday. "We are going to have a recruiting class every year of 30-36 guys. This year what we've done is try to target some junior college guys and even some transfers and I think that has really allowed us to develop a little more depth on our football team especially on our defense and that was a priority for us."
The Eagles get their 2019 season started off with Union College Thursday, August 29 at 6 p.m.
