LEXINGTON, Ky. (WYMT) - Following Kentucky football's first scrimmage, UK football head coach Mark Stoops said that the defense was disappointing.

The Wildcats' wrapped up their second scrimmage last weekend, and Stoops said that there were improvements, but added Tuesday that the team is still inconsistent.

"Inconsistent," said Stoops. "Not as consistent as we'd like to be. Sometimes guys don't know what they don't know. They are just trying to head that off as much as possible. Generally, we all learn from mistakes and trying to get them to head those mistakes off before they happen. At times I am seeing them over-communicate and play with a great sense of urgency and other times I am seeing a little bit of a lapse with that. So we are just going to continue to work."

Kentucky has just under two weeks to make final preparations as they take on the Toledo Rockets in their season opener on August 31st.
