Mark Dixon leaves Hazard to coach Perry Central football

Hazard football coach, Mark Dixon has officially accepted the head coaching job at Perry Central.

Dixon who has coached at Hazard since the 2003 season racked up a record of 172-54. The Bulldogs went to the state title game under Dixon in 2008, 2010, 2011 and 2016, winning in 2011.

Dixon played for M.C. Napier, where he graduated.

The Commodores and Ovie Canaday parted ways at the end of the 2019 season after Perry Central failed to make the playoffs going 1-9.

This is the second time a coach has left one school to go to the other. Al Holland, Hazards athletic director left Perry Central basketball after the 2006-07 season to go to Hazard.
