HYDEN, Ky. (WYMT) - Leslie County's Lexy Meyers broke a long-standing school record for the most career threes last week.
The junior broke the record against Oneida Baptist in the Lady Eagles' last game of the regular season.
Meyers currently has made 275 threes in her career.
Meyers says that the record is a special one to break, and her head coach Larry Sparks had high praise for the junior guard.
"I don't know, I just feel like if I hit one, then I can hit them all," Meyers said. "It's something special, cause there's a lot of great shooters that came through here before."
"She shot a really good percentage from three-point range, as well as two this year," said Sparks. "She's an excellent free throw shooter. She's about as versatile and as good of an offensive basketball player as I've coached, male or female. She means a lot to our team."
