WALESKA, Ga. – A late rally by Reinhardt University sent them sailing past Union College in the fourth quarter to capture the 68-58 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) victory on Saturday.
With the loss, Union falls to 15-12 overall and 12-11 in conference play, while Reinhardt moves to 15-11 overall and 14-9 in the AAC.
The Bulldogs were on top at the end of every quarter until it came to the final quarter when the Eagles went on a 15-2 point run to take a 64-52 lead at the 2:27 mark. Union tried to regain the momentum in the final minutes of regulation, but a three-pointer from Brooke Hammonds and a field goal from Chariss Wilson wasn’t enough as the Bulldogs fall 68-58 to Reinhardt.
STAT OF THE GAME
Senior Jaimie Curtis scored a career-high of 14 points in the loss going 7-for-9 from the paint.
Hammonds had a perfect day from beyond the arc going 2-for-2.
Despite the loss, Union outshot Reinhardt with a 49 percent from the field and 57.1 percent from beyond the arc.
Curtis led the Bulldogs offensively, followed by Hammonds with 12 points and Stidham with 11.
Hammonds and Stidham each tallied seven boards, respectfully.
