HAZARD, Ky. (WYMT) - It was a high scoring affair from the start in Thursday night's semifinal game. South Laurel put up 46 points in the first half, but had to hold off a late Leslie County run to win, 85-76.
Amerah Steele led the way for South Laurel with 35 points, but it was Lexy Meyers who led all scorers with 39 points on the night and nine threes. She was just shy of the school record, which was 10 threes.
The Lady Eagles will play in the third place game on Saturday against Pike Central. South Laurel takes on Clay County for the second time in this young season. The Lady Tigers downed South Laurel, 58-54 in their first meeting.
