NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WYMT) - Kentucky will take the court at Bridgestone Arena Friday night, but Kentucky fans have swarmed to the Music City ahead of their matchup against Alabama.
"I think we're concerned about national championships...but the SEC championship is a nice icing on the cake. I Just want to see Reid Travis play a little bit get healthy, get his feet under him and then I'll be excited about the real tournament," said the group of recent UK Alumni. "I'd rather win the NCAA Tournament. After so many SEC tournaments I'd rather have number nine than 50 or 60 of these," said a Kentucky fan enjoying a drink at a restaurant across from Bridgestone Arena where the games are taking place.
The fans are hopeful and enjoying the nightlife in Nashville. However, they are also excited to Reid Travis get some playing time in the SEC Tournament before the big dance.
PJ Washington thinks Travis will fit right back in.
"I think he's going to fit right back in. He was injured but he was still getting workouts in and stuff like that so I think he will fit right back in like he was earlier in the season and we're excited to eventually have him back," said Washington.
Kentucky will take on Alabama Friday night at 7 p.m. on the SEC Network. We will continue to update our coverage from Nashville throughout the week.
