GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WYMT) – No. 7 Kentucky (18-3, 7-1) fought their way back late in the second half Saturday against the Florida Gators (12-9, 4-4) to win 65-54, securing their eighth-straight win.
The Wildcats led by one point with 4:15 to play in the first half, and would trail all the way until 4:53 to play in the second half. Kentucky used a 12-0 run and a five-minute scoring drought from the Gators to recapture the lead.
The Wildcats never relinquished the lead again as they cruised to victory.
With the win, Kentucky snaps a two-game losing skid to the Gators.
Kentucky improves to 7-1 in conference play, Florida falls to an even 4-4.
The Wildcats had three double-figure scorers: Tyler Herro (19), PJ Washington (15) and Keldon Johnson (10).
Next time out, the Wildcats head back to Lexington and host South Carolina Tuesday night at 7 p.m. on the SEC Network.
