HINDMAN, Ky. (WYMT) - Kaylee Mathis scored 26 points for Clay County, becoming the Lady Tigers all-time leading scorer, and Clay County defeated Pike Central in overtime, 55-45.
Clay County was down 41-35 midway through the fourth quarter against Pike Central. From there, the Lady Tigers closed the quarter on a 10-4 run, tying the game at 45 on a Taylor Asher and one.
In the extra frame, Clay County held Pike Central scoreless, all while adding ten points themselves.
Kelsi Brinager led the Lady Hawks with 23 points.
With the win, Clay County moves on to face Hazard at 8:30 in the semifinals. Pike Central plays on Thursday at 5 p.m. against Floyd Central.
