LEXINGTON, Ky. (WYMT) - Junior Linebacker Kash Daniel will play in his third straight game that he'll be wearing a cast this Saturday.
The Paintsville native gave an injury update during a media availability Wednesday, saying his hand is feeling better.
"This week my hand feels a lot better and hopefully we will trim that cast down a little bit where I can at least get my wrist movement around," said Daniel.
Daniel has seen a drop in production that past two games for the Wildcats since injuring his left hand in Kentucky's game against Vanderbilt on October 20.
"Obviously it was different playing with it out there, it is a restriction kind of from using your full hand and grip and rolling your wrist for tackling purposes," said Daniel.
The Wildcats are coming off of a 34-17 loss to Georgia last weekend. Daniel said that the defensive effort in that game was one that didn't live up to their own standards.
"I mean last week we had a really great week of preparation and I mean just like every other week, but like you saw and we saw on Saturday, we didn't live up to the defensive standard that we put on ourselves at the beginning of the year," said Daniels. "That is the message to get back to us, and get back to playing Kentucky defense."
