LEXINGTON, Ky. (WYMT) - UK linebacker Josh Allen is the 2018 Kentucky Sports Figure of the Year Award.
The Lexington Herald-Leader announced the winner of the Award Wednesday evening.
Allen won the award over nine other finalists, including Benny Snell who finished second, Justify third, Mark Stoops fourth and Asia Durr at number five.
This is the 38th year for the prestigious award.
Josh Allen helped lead Kentucky football to one of its most successful seasons in program history, with the Wildcats finishing their season with a 10-3 record and the VRBO Citrus Bowl Champions after defeating Penn State 27-24.
The senior linebacker finished with 88 total tackles and 17 sacks in his final season in a Kentucky uniform.
Allen is projected as a top-three pick by multiple outlets in this year's NFL Draft.
