Hazard falls to Trinity (Lou.) in Quarterfinals

LEXINGTON, Ky (WYMT)- It may not have been the way the Hazard Bulldogs wanted to end their 2019 baseball season, but the Senior class was able to end it at Whitaker Bank Ball Park like they have done each of the last four years.

After rain postponed Thursday Nights schedule game to Friday Morning, and the team had to wait over 5 hours to final take the field, Hazard couldn't return to the Final Four for the second straight year.

The Trinity Shamrocks who boasted a 34-5 record topped the Bulldogs 13-0 in 5 innings.

After the game, Hazard's faithful did have something to cheer about. Not only did the dogs have a great season, and run with the senior class featuring four players, but Garrett Miller was named to the 2019 Whitaker Bank/ KHSAA State Baseball.

"When first practice starts next year and I look around and don't see them, it's just gonna be something that you have to think about what they have accomplished," Head Coach John Meehan said about his 2019 class. "It'll be hard to replicate with the kids coming forward with what these seniors have done."
