HARLAN, Ky. (WYMT) - After averaging more than 17 points in his freshman season at Harlan, it comes as no surprise that sophomore Jordan Akal is among the top players in the state of Kentucky for the Class of 2022.
Prep Hoops ranked Akal as the third-best sophomore in Kentucky.
Eastern's James Jewell was the top-ranked player in the class for the Bluegrass, with Butler's Turrell Cleaves Jr. ranked second.
"Akal is a scoring point guard who is capable of lighting up a scoreboard," Prep Hoops' Steve Quattrocchi wrote about Akal.
Akal averaged 17.2 points and 3.9 rebounds for the Green Dragons last season, helping lead the team to a 20-13 record and a 13th region tournament appearance.
