LEXINGTON, Ky. (WYMT) - Former Kentucky pitcher Sean Hjelle returned to Lexington Monday morning to face the Lexington Legends.
Hjelle, a pitcher with the San Francisco Giants' single-A affiliate, the Augusta Greenjackets, got the start Monday morning and tallied four strikeouts in four and one-third innings.
Augusta claimed the victory with a 2-1 final score.
Hjelle told our sister station WKYT that the jump to the pros has had its challenges, but he is enjoying the ride.
"It's tougher sometimes, the nine-hour bus trips and getting back at 5:30 in the morning and what not, you've got to take it for what it is," Hjelle said. "It is what you make out of it. It has just been an awesome and humbling journey so far, I have been enjoying it and I plan on keeping enjoying it."
