Former Cats hit NBA hardwood for preseason

(WYMT) - The NBA preseason started this past week and continues this week as teams prepare for the 2019-2020 NBA season. We've seen Anthony Davis in action with his new team in Los Angeles. But Tuesday night was about the young Cats in the league.

Tyler Herro started his NBA preseason with a solid 18-point performance against San Antonio.

That step back three was one of two on the night for Herro. He added three assists as well in his debut.

Now on the same team, Gilgeous-Alexander and Diallo played well for the new-look Oklahoma City Thunder. Gilgeous-Alexander, a part of the Paul George trade that Jerry West was reluctant to give up, started his Thunder preseason with 24 points, including four triples, and four assists as well.

Coming off the bench for the Thunder, Diallo made his splash in a big way for OKC with eight points and seven rebounds, including a thunderous dunk to get the bench jumping.

The Thunder took home a 119-104 victory over the Dallas Mavericks in their first preseason game.

Jarred Vanderbilt was also in action with the Nuggets in their first preseason game. Denver took on Portland in a rematch of last year's Western Conference semifinal match-up.

Vanderbilt had four points and five rebounds in 11 minutes of play for the Nuggets

Denver won their first preseason game, 105-94 against Portland.
