Food City Flashback: Lindsay Proffitt sets the bar in the Girls' Mountain Classic
As the sun rose on a normal January morning, Perry Central and Breathitt County got set for the girls' consolation game in the Mountain Classic. Little did they know, history would be made at John C. Combs Arena.
Enter Lindsay Proffitt. The junior guard lit up North Laurel in her first Mountain Classic game for 30 points, but the Lady Commodores fell by five.
That effort put her in the top ten all-time for points scored in a game in Girls' Mountain Classic history, but she saved her best performance for last.
Proffitt erupted for 39 points in perry central's 26-point win over Breathitt County, a mark that still stands as the most points scored all-time in Girls' Mountain Classic history.
The junior sits at fourth for most points scored in Girls' Mountain Classic history. Proffitt went on to average a whopping 28.5 points per game, fourth in the state that season.
