PIKEVILLE, Ky. -- The Mid-South Conference Player of the Year added another accomplishment to his resume on Thursday when he was named to the NAIA Eastern All-Star Team.
He is the fourth UPIKE player to participate in the three years of the event, joining Keala King and Bruce Reed in 2014 and Kenny Manigault in 2015.
Delacruz was ninth in Division I with 20.5 points per game and 32nd in field goal percentage at .541 this season. Among Mid-South athletes, his 20.5 PPG mark was the highest and his field goal percentage was the second highest. Delacruz was also top-four in the MSC in 3-point field goal percentage at .418.
The senior Brooklyn native helped lead UPIKE to a 23-8 record and second place finish in the MSC.
The Bears will know their postseason fate on March 13 when the NAIA reveals its 32-team bracket for the National Championship.
