The number one seed in the Lexington regional is Loyalty Is Love, whose general manager is former Kentucky Wildcat DeMarcus Cousins.

Loyalty Is Love secured their spot in the second round of the region by defeating the number eight seed, the Hoopville Warriors, 107-98.

Cousins said before the games began on Friday that he wanted to be a part of the action due to how competitive the tournament is.

"Guys coming out and competing. I don't think people realize how competitive this tournament is going to be," Cousins told our sister station WKYT. "Guys playing for their livelihood and they will leave it all on the line so I am excited for some good competitive basketball."

The team comprised of former Kentucky alumni, the Bluegrass Boys, fell short in their first-round matchup to number seven seed D2, 77-62.

Former Wildcats on the Bluegrass Boys roster included Mark Krebs, Kevin Galloway, Josh Harrellson, Ramon Harris, Dominique Hawkins, Marcus Lee, AJ Stewart, Wayne Turner and Derek Willis.

EKU's Nick Mayo helped lead his team, Team KBC, to victory over the Peoria All-Stars 94-82. Mayo tallied 17 points, third-most for KBC.
