LEXINGTON, Ky. (WYMT) - The Corbin Redhounds are back in the state championship, hoping to avenge last year's state title loss.
Corbin knocked off Boyle County last Friday in a game few of these fans saw coming. Corbin, who lost a heartbreaker last year, hopes to take that experience to knock off Central.
Corbin fans say they have been waiting a long time since the school's last title win and a win tonight would make their legacy even greater.
"We're really excited. It is a football school, a football town, so to get to come back to Lexington for the kids and to do it for the community is really special," said Marcus Kuhl.
1982 was the last time Corbin's fan base had a taste of a state championship. They have another chance Friday night at Kroger field.
We will update you on the results of the game on Sports Overtime Friday night and on WYMT.com.
