ORLANDO, Fla. (WYMT) - Monday afternoon a huge pep rally brought Big Blue Nation out to Pointe Orlando, one of the hot spots in the Sunshine State.
Following the pep rally, fans spend the evening ushering in 2019. Fans say they want to see the momentum from 2018 carry over into the new year.
"We are going to start off 2019 with a win," said Fred Sizemore, a Perry County native. "It's amazing. We've been sitting here at the Pointe and it has been amazing, the amount of fans out here."
Much of Big Blue Nation is spending the evening out and about this New Year's Eve.
"We're so excited," said Madison Callhoun as she stood alongside her friend Reiley Young. "We've been waiting for this all season and we got this."
Many are actually going to bed early as they want to be some of the first to arrive and cheer on the Cats as they shoot for their first ten-win season since 1977.
"We're ready to watch the Cats go beat Penn State," said Betty Metzmeier. "Go Big Blue, that's all I can say."
