Ally Collett earns 'Player of the Week' honors
It's a club basketball players dream of.
"It feels pretty good," said South Laurel Junior, Ally Collett.
The 2,000 point club.
"Anything ally gets she deserves every bit of it because she has worked for everything," said Collett's coach, Chris Souder
The work ethic comes with not chasing milestones but the love of the game.
"I honestly just work hard because I love the game. I constantly want to be a better version of myself and a better player," said Collett.
Ally Collett's stats resemble that. Not only has the Junior accomplished scoring milestones like becoming the leading scorer in South Laurel Girls' Basketball history and a member of the 2,000 point club, but topping stat charts in other aspects of the game.
"The thing that impresses me the most about ally scoring 2,00 points is ally also leads the state in assists and I think right now according to MaxPreps she might be in the top 20 in the nation in terms of assists," said Souder.
Collett has already committed to Western Kentucky University. The Junior says she isn't the only one that deserves credit for her success.
"I'm glad I just have great females and teammates around me that are constantly making me better each and every day. I wouldn't have made it to the 2,000th point club if it wasn't for them."
