PIPPA PASSES, Ky. (WYMT) - Saturday was the final time that the Alice Lloyd basketball teams would play a game in the Grady Nutt Athletic Center.
The Eagles hosted IU-Kokomo in a double-header for the final games.
The athletic center will be torn down in the coming weeks to make way for a new ALC Campus Center, a building that is expected to be fully complete in December of 2019.
The Grady Nutt Athletic Center has housed a lot of great memories for the Alice Lloyd College students and community over the years, and while it's sad to see it go, they know that the future is exciting.
Alice Lloyd's men's basketball head Coach JR Hammond expressed his thoughts on the final game.
"For me to be able to play here, and then come back and coach, for the Grady Nutt Athletic Center, it's got a lot of memories, there's been a lot of great things that have happened here. A lot of great victories, a lot of tough losses, and it's always been exciting, great basketball atmosphere, the fans have always made that happen. We just love playing in this gym, we hate to see it go, but we also look forward to the future."
