Man arrested in connection with murder at Wise County water facility
Wise County Sheriff Ronnie Oakes announced Thursday an arrest in connection with a November murder in Wise County, Virginia.
On November 27, Janina Jefferson, an employee at the town's water facility, was shot and killed while she was working.
Jacob Seth Rowland, 24, of Big Stone Gap, is charged with acting as an accessory to Jefferson's murder. Police say he drove Eric Monroe Jones to the scene of the murder, knowing Jones had a protective order preventing him from contacting Jefferson.
Rowland is also charged with trespassing, violating a protection order and conspiring to intimidate Jefferson or impede her testimony against Jones.
Jones is still on the loose. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Wise County Sheriff’s Office at (276) 328-3756.
