WHITLEY, Ky. (WYMT) - Joe Bauer pleaded guilty in Whitley Circuit Count Monday in connection with the disappearance of Laura Anderson.
Bauer was charged with acting alone in the homicide of Laura Anderson. The prosecution could not prove his account of assisting other killers because Anderson's body has not been found.
He pleaded guilty to facilitation to commit murder, tampering with physical evidence and facilitation to commit robbery.
Commonwealth's Attorney Ronnie Bowling recommended a 10-year prison sentence on the conditions that Bauer testify truthfully at the trial of Anderson's actual murderers as well as giving authorities the location of the body.
Anderson went missing a year ago. Bowling said her family found comfort in the fact that someone was finally facing justice for what happened to her.
