JOHNSON, Ky. (WYMT) - When you meet Pam Burton, you will never forget her. Her dedication and love for teaching you minds inspire everyone around her.

"She is probably the greatest educator to ever walk through this building," says Mrs. Burton's former student Josh Collins.

Not only did she teach for 40 years but she was a coach to the academic and future problem-solving teams. Despite her dislike for competitions, Burton led her students to multiple, regional, state and worldwide victories.

"My favorite memory is 1997, the quick recall match at state. We wanted to win one match at state and we won quick recall that year," Burton adds.

She never took any credit for those wins, she always made sure it was her students that shined in the spotlight.

"Kids change they are only here for two years and the one common factor was Pam," said Burton's former colleague Tim Adams.

As she packs up her classroom, she can't help but think of the thousands of children who touched her life.

"I'm proud of all the kids I've taught but I think that they have inspired me and their patience with me and when I make mistakes they forgive me," Burton said with a smile.

Even though Pam Burton will no longer be teaching, her love for her school will never change.
