Officials with the Hazard Water Plant tell WYMT a water outage is underway near the Hazard Village Shopping Center.

Crews discovered a major leak around midnight Wednesday. The outage affects all restaurants in the area, all of Dawahare Drive and Ridgeview Way.

Officials also say the outage includes FMC Hazard Dialysis Center, which is disrupting dialysis services.

There is now a boil water advisory in effect until further notice from CVS Pharmacy all the way down to the shopping center and all of Ridgeview Way and Dawahare Drive, including the Paul E. Patton Eastern Kentucky Veterans Center.

About 150 customers are affected by this outage/advisory.

No word on when service will be restored. We will continue to update this story as we learn more information.
