WASHINGTON, D.C. (WYMT) - Senator Mitch McConnell hopes to push through President Donald Trump's pick for the next UN Ambassador.
Last week, the president nominated Canadian Ambassador Kelly Knight Craft.
Sen. McConnell said he is proud the nominee is a Kentuckian.
"I've known her for years. She's active in civic matters. I think she's got all the skills you need for this kind of sensitive, diplomatic post," said McConnell.
Craft is also the wife of Hazard native and coal industry leader Joe Craft.
