FRANKFORT, Ky. (WYMT)- Update at 7:06 p.m.
Governor Beshear announced 45 new cases of COVID-19 in Kentucky, increasing the total number to 439. There were no new deaths reported in his 5 p.m. briefing.
He called on businesses and people to 'do better' to stop the spread of COVID-19.
“We can’t allow any crowds in Kentucky right now,” Gov. Beshear said. “Where social distancing cannot be followed, we are going to have to shut golf courses and other places down.”
Gov. Beshear said the state’s health care resources which include 18,500 hospital beds, 1,300 ICU beds and 1,352 ventilators, will be further stretched if people do not do their part to control the spread and cause a more severe outbreak.
Governor Andy Beshear is scheduled to have a 5 p.m. news conference to give an update on COVID-19 conditions in Kentucky.
