The Rest of the Weekend
This evening temps will be in the 40s, so layer up for any evening plans.

Overnight lows on Saturday will be in the upper 30s. If you are heading out to the UK game Saturday, it'll be on the chilly side so make sure to have the heavy jacket.

Sunshine continues for Sunday with temperatures even warmer, near 60! Trust me, you will want to soak it up while you can.

Sunday, overnight lows will only drop into the low to mid-40s with clouds increasing ahead of our next system Monday.

Extended Forecast
It's the talk of the mountains right now: Will we see our first measurable snow early next week? Well, let's discuss what we know right now.

Monday looks dry for much of the day. Daytime highs should get into the mid-50s, before the arctic air from the cold front comes crashing in overnight. We are looking at a later start time for the moisture. I think rain starts late Monday evening, but before midnight. I think the transition over to a wintry mix or snow happens near or after midnight. This will depend on how fast temps fall and how much moisture is left once they do., but this is the current trend.

By Tuesday morning, temps will be in the low to mid-20s, which means any moisture still around at that point will definitely be snow. Remember though snowbirds, the ground will be coming off of 2 decently warm days, so it will be hard for anything to stick at first. I think snowfall ends mid morning Tuesday, with lingering flurries possible.

As far as snow totals go, trends have become more consistent, but it is still too early to put out anything with confidence. If needed, we will generate some sort of impact map on Sunday.

The biggest story is going to be the frigid air behind that front. I want to emphasize this! Daytime highs on Tuesday will likely stay below freezing and drop into the mid to upper teens overnight. Wednesday, even with clearing skies, doesn't look much better. Highs look to get above freezing, but just barely.

There are still a few days to go before this system arrives, so enjoy the weekend and keep it locked here for updates.
