PERRY COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - Several Perry County volunteer firefighters stood on the side of the road Saturday to raise money to help one of their own.

A volunteer from the Jakes Branch Fire Department lost his fiance along with his sister late Wednesday night in a crash on I-75.

Taylor Blevins and Caitlyn Bailey were hit head-on by Tammy Rodriguez who was driving under the influence.

"He lost his girlfriend in a traffic accident on I-75, it was his fiancé. He is just going through a hard time right now and we are trying to do what we can to help him like raise some money to cover burial expenses and everything," says Captain of Jakes Branch Fire Department Doug Beverly.

Debbie Lynn Bevins of Pikeville was also killed during the crash.
