LEXINGTON, Ky. (WYMT/Lexington Herald-Leader) - A University of Kentucky student has been indicted in the death of a four-year-old boy.
Our media partners at the Lexington Herald-Leader report 18-year-old Jacob Heil now faces a reckless homicide charge according to an indictment released Wednesday morning.
Police say Heil was under the influence when he hit Marco Shemwell as Shemwell was waiting with his parents to cross Cooper Drive near Scoville Drive during the September 15th UK Football game. Shemwell was taken to Kentucky Children's Hospital where he died Sept. 17th.
Heil originally faced DUI charges.
