Kentucky State Trooper accidentally shot, expected to make full recovery
The Kentucky State Trooper who was accidentally shot Tuesday evening is expected to make a full recovery.
Officials said Trooper Joey Brigmon was attempting to put a rifle back in it's mount inside his cruiser, went it accidentally fired.
Brigmon was hit in the arm and face with shrapnel.
A Kentucky State Trooper was shot in Bell County Tuesday.
Police tell WYMT the trooper was shot while placing a rifle in his car. The rifle accidentally went off and shot him in the arm.
The trooper was flown to Holston Valley Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
Officials have not released the officer's name. We are told he has worked for Kentucky State Police for several years.
