Group demands tougher gun laws for those convicted of domestic violence

FRANKFORT, Ky, (WYMT/WKYT) - A group was in Frankfort Tuesday pushing for tougher gun laws for people convicted of domestic violence. Our sister station WKYT has the story.

The group "Moms Demand Action" want people convicted of domestic violence to give up guns for a period of time.

Pat Quiggins has been waiting for something like this for a long time. She lost her sister to a murder-suicide.

"She was killed in 1991 and then in 1995 I was up here at the legislature. And clearly we've had a long way to go and it's been pretty slow," Quiggins said.

This bill would put Kentucky in line with the federal legislation.
