(WYMT) - The cold front continues to move through this evening which will provide chilly temperatures for your Monday.
This Evening's Recap
The line of showers and storms have moved east out of the area. The cold front will continue to push through tonight providing gusty winds and cooler temperatures. Lows could drop into the upper 30s to lower 40s.
Strong winds, hail, and a few storms impacted the mountains earlier this evening but why did we not see that many warnings?
Strong to severe storms impacted the deep south this afternoon which did not allow us to receive moisture from the Gulf of Mexico. The first round of showers this morning took a lot of our instability away as well.
Overall we were lucky today. Below is a Facebook live that explains a little bit more of what happened.
High pressure builds in for Monday which will lead to clear skies and cooler temperatures. Lows will be in the upper 30s with highs only in the mid-50s.
Tuesday and Wednesday will both feature mostly sunny skies and mild afternoon temperatures. Lows will be in the upper 30s on Tuesday and lower 50s on Wednesday. Expect highs in the 70s both days.
Thursday temperatures will be even warmer with mostly sunny skies, however, this may lead to a few afternoon thunderstorms. Much better chances for rain return to the mountains on Friday with our next frontal system.
