Louisville trustees fired athletic director Tom Jurich Wednesday in the wake of its involvement in a national federal investigation of college basketball.

The University's Board of Trustees met Wednesday afternoon and following a vote, the Board fired the long-time Athletic Director. The vote count was 10-3 in favor of firing Jurich.

Jurich served as AD with the University for 20 years.

He was originally placed on paid administrative leave from the University on September 27th.

Vince Tyra was named acting AD since Oct. 3, a move the Athletic Association approved on Monday before firing coach Rick Pitino.

After Pitino's firing, his lawyer filed a suit against Adidas.
