“Today’s game? It’s not gonna be much of a game;" Kentucky fans confident ahead of Florida game

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WYMT) - Last year the Cats did something Kentucky had not been able to do for more than three decades. They beat the Florida Gators.

With possibly another historic win in Kentucky future, fans showed up as SEC Nation made its way out to Lexington.

Although they said they have faith in this Kentucky team, Florida was favorited overall.

Thousands set up to tailgate throughout the day around Kroger Field. One fan even smoked gator.

“This is the first gator, we’d like to smoke gator all day long," said Brian Bickett. "We’re just looking to beat the gators, cats by 90."

A Kentucky tailgate grow is one of a kind.

“We all go to Disney world, we all go down to Florida for their beaches, but what we don’t realize is on the way we pass Gainesville Florida, and what we’re gonna do on the field tonight is pass Gainesville Florida," said Trent Bauer.

With a fan of new faces and a new quarterback, fans are still confident.

“Today’s game? It’s not gonna be much of a game," said another fan.
