Tips from neighbors help police arrest drug trafficking suspect

ASHLAND, Ky. (WSAZ) - Police say tips from the public helped them arrest a drug trafficking suspect in Ashland.

The Ashland Police Department raided a home in the 2100 block of Thomas Street. It happened around 5:30 Tuesday morning.

"This area has been a focus of attention thanks to the tips of our citizens," police said in a press release.

Charles D. Davenport, 58, of Ashland, is charged with trafficking in a controlled substance as well as possession of a controlled substance.

Officers discovered drugs and paraphernalia while executing the search warrant.

Davenport was taken to the Boyd County Detention Center.
