(WYMT) - Today was a nice break from the heat but more heat is on the way as we head into the weekend.

Tonight and Friday
This evening we will continue to see those mostly cloudy skies move to partly cloudy skies overnight. Lows will drop into the lower 60s overnight. We could see a few stray rain chances tonight linger into your Friday morning as well.

Friday we should see mostly sunny skies with temperatures in the low to mid-80s. Overnight lows will be in the upper 50s to lower 60s. Should be some nice weather for Friday night football fans!

The Weekend
This weekend looks a little steamy with highs in the mid to upper 80s. Overnight lows look to be a little bit cooler with temperatures in the low to mid-60s.

We could see a stray chance super late Sunday night, but most of those rain chances look to arrive Monday. Clouds will start to increase later Sunday into Monday as a cold front moves into the mountains.

We are looking at great weather for the Black Gold Festival this weekend! We'll be out doing Guest Weather on Saturday as well!

Extended Forecast
Temperatures do look slightly cooler compared to the past week but they will still be above average.

Stray rain chances look to continue into the new work week. The best chance for rain looks to be Monday as a cold front moves through. The front does not look like it will bring us a lot of rain, but isolated rain chances are likely.

Highs for the week look to remain in the low to mid-80s with overnight lows in the upper 50s to lower 60s.
