HAZARD, Ky. (WYMT) - The rain is gone and things have calmed down some this morning, but you'll definitely notice a change in the temperature when you head out the door.
Today and Tonight
Look for clear skies early and then a sunny day ahead. It will be breezy at times, with winds out of the west at 5 to 10 mph. Daytime highs will climb to around 40, but the breeze will make it feel colder than that.
Tonight, we'll stay clear and cool back down into the low 30s.
Your Valentine's Day forecast looks pretty good, at least for most of the day. Sunny skies will continue and temperatures will climb, topping out near 60 in the afternoon. The clouds will start to increase later in the day as our next system approaches.
If you have dinner plans, I think you'll be ok to leave the umbrella at home. The rain chances will move in later in the evening. We'll drop into the upper 40s under mostly cloudy skies by Friday morning.
Those rain chances will be the main story for Friday with highs in the mid-50s. Mostly cloudy skies and showers are expected for the end of the work week. Cold temperatures will slowly work back into the forecast, allowing for a transition to snow late Friday and into Saturday. We will keep an eye on that weekend system in the coming days.
